Cat takes a unique approach to teaching her students. First, she makes learning FUN, and secondly, she teaches every student according to how they learn best. This instills motivation, and excitement in each one of the students!
Cat has thrown out the "traditional piano lessons" setting, and created a new experience for the rising generation of students.
The Studio is located near Smoky Hill and Tower in Centennial/Aurora Colorado. It is only a 10 minute drive from the Southlands Mall.
Regular teaching hours are from 3p – 8p, Monday through Thursday.
Students must be at least 8 years of age.
Students need to have had at least one year of piano lessons before joining the studio.
Catherine (Cat) Williams began her piano studies at the age of 8. Since then, she has received superior ratings in local and national competitions, including Guild. Cat graduated from Denver School of the Arts in 2006 as a piano, dance, and voice major. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Piano performance with a minor in psychology from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2013. In the Spring of 2016, she received her second music degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver as a Bachelor of Music in piano performance. Her teachers include: Debbie Turnbull, Richard Italiano, Dr. Janet Landreth, Peter Friesen, Dr. Fernanda Nieto, Dr. Tamara Goldstein, and Dr. Sara Parkinson.
Cat has maintained a private piano studio since 2009, and currently serves as the immediate past President in the Aurora Music Teacher's Association (AMTA.) She is also a member of the Douglas-Elbert Music Teachers Association (DEMTA,) Federation of Music Clubs, Colorado State Music Teachers Association (CSMTA,) and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA.) Aside from teaching piano, she sings with Saint Martin's Chamber Choir and enjoys living in Aurora with her husband, their dog, and 5 backyard chickens. She married one of her very own piano students-Aaron. And, she survived Acute Lymphoma Leukemia at the age of 12.
